Pastor Jonathan Perry is a devoted teacher and preacher of the Word of God with a deep compassion for people. He has a passion for building strong men, encouraging the less fortunate, and serving the elderly. Known not only for his commanding voice but also for his genuine and humble heart, Pastor Perry ministers with authenticity, care, and conviction.
Born in Monticello, New York, Pastor Perry spent most of his formative years in Kingston, New York, where he was raised alongside his seven siblings. During this time, he faithfully supported his father, the late District Elder Henry Perry, founder of Bethlehem Temple Church, gaining early exposure to ministry and leadership.
At the age of sixteen, Pastor Perry committed his life to Christ at Bethlehem Church of Jesus Christ in Ithaca, New York, under the leadership of the late Bishop Cecil Malone. He later returned to his father’s church, where he received invaluable training in church operations and leadership. It was during this season that he discovered a strong calling to serve seniors and individuals with disabilities. By caring for two elderly men with special needs, he unknowingly laid the foundation for a ministry rooted in compassion, service, and purpose.
In 1982, Pastor Perry relocated to California and became an active member of Greater Bethlehem Temple Church in Los Angeles under Bishop Winston Singleton. There, he faithfully served in several capacities, including the brotherhood ministry, baptism committee, video ministry, and kitchen ministry.
In 2006, Pastor Perry moved to Atlanta, Georgia to assist his sister in caring for their elderly mother. He began attending Harvesttime Apostolic Ministries in Riverdale, Georgia, under the late Bishop Ray Trout.
In 2008, he received his Minister’s License and served in numerous roles, including baptism ministry, new members facilitation, brotherhood president, adult Sunday school teacher, and hospital and nursing home visitation. He also served in prison and outreach ministries, coordinated soup kitchens, assisted with residential relocation, supported church facilities operations, and served as Adjutant to Bishop Joel Trout while assisting the Board of Elders.
Pastor Perry was ordained as an Elder in 2015 under Bishop Joel Trout within the jurisdiction of the Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith International. In 2017, Pastor Jonathan and his wife, Pastor Maria Perry, joined The Ministry of New Life under the leadership of Archbishop Suzie E. Jones and Overseer Caudell Jones, where he served as an Elder and president of the men’s ministry.
On July 3, 2019, Pastors Jonathan and Maria Perry officially launched Resurrected Hope Ministries, and were officially anointed and installed as Pastors in March 2020 by Archbishop Suzie Jones. Even amid the challenges of a global pandemic, they have remained faithful in building, nurturing, and advancing the work God entrusted to them.
Pastor Perry spent over twenty five years as a Payroll Professional and now enjoys retirement. In his leisure time, he enjoys golfing, reading, and writing.
